In the classic movie The Nightmare Before Christmas there has always been great animation and catchy songs. Directed by Henry Selick in 1993, it is a stop motion animated fantasy. It is also happens to be a musical. The movie was produced by Tim Burton and Denise Di Novi. Tim Burton has made many stop-motion pictures. This movie starts in Halloween Town.  

It starts with Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, searching for something new. He stumbles upon Christmas Town, which you guessed it, is a Christmas themed town. He soon falls in love with the town and tries to change Halloween Town to be more like it, and it goes south. Jack is obsessed with Christmas. He tries to steal Christmas, and it does not go as planned. He goes through trial and tribulation as he searches to bring something new to his town. Jack is accompanied by Sally, who is a zombie, and his ghost dog, Zero. They follow him around during the movie. Sally gives Jack advice.

The film gives off a different feel with the animations. It is mainly dark on the screen, so it gives off a eery vibe during the movie. Also, the songs in the movie fit right in to what is going on. The songs are played at perfect times and gives the movie a boost in what is going on. The best part to me is the animation. It is just a different feel that gives the movie a distinct look. That is what I enjoy most about it. At points, a strange, eerie vibe is given off by the appearance of the Boogeyman. At other points, he appears extremely evil and is a scary sight in the movie.

I enjoy the film fully. I recommend it to anyone who likes a different looking movie or enjoys musicals. The songs in the movie are great, but there is not too many songs that they distract from the plot. A perfect mixture of both that give the movie a good feel. Overall, I love the movie, and you should watch it to get the holiday fever.
