Ariana Grande is currently dominating the music charts with her 2 singles and new album. With the release of her 5th studio album, Thank U, Next, she immediately grabbed the number one spot on the Apple Music charts.

Ariana Grande was previously known for her acting on Teen Nick’s “Victorious” and her role in “Annie” on Broadway. She had released 4 studio albums before Thank U, Next, which are Yours Truly, My Everything, Dangerous Woman, and Sweetener. These past albums have earned her many awards and nominations. Ariana had her first Grammy nomination in 2014 for her “Bang Bang” performance with NIcki Minaj and Jessie J. My Everything was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, but she sadly didn’t win. Thank U, Next is one of the most highly anticipated albums she has put out yet.

Grande’s lead single for Thank U, Next was “Thank U, Next,” which became one of the biggest hits of 2018 despite being released out of the blue. The single skyrocketed, landing at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She later released the music video that instantly broke many YouTube records, including “Most Views in 24 hours” with 46 million views. In December she released “imagine” that didn’t do as well as “Thank U, Next”, but it was still an amazing song. In January Grande released “7 Rings” that, like “Thank U, Next”, went to the top of Billboard Hot 100. The song is very upbeat, and she even does her own rap in it. Her singles for Thank U, Next were incredibly successful, leaving her fans wanting more.

The rest of the songs on the album are outstanding. “Bloodline” includes a brass section that gives the song a Latin vibe, and it really stands out from the other songs. “Ghostin” and “Bad Idea” feature strings that gives the song real emotion. Lyrically this album is the best. In “Fake Smile” she sings about how she always has to have a smile on her face. Almost every song starts out with a sound bit that Ariana recorded herself at some point while she was recording the album. The production of the album is for sure her best album to date.

In conclusion, Ariana Grande’s new album, Thank U, Next, is a must listen because of how amazing it is. I would give the album a 4.5 out of 5 stars because I wasn’t a fan of every song, but most were really good.
