David Buckett is a 6’2’ freshman who came to JPII after a year of homeschooling. He was born in Wisconsin and moved to White House, Tennessee, with his younger sister, younger brother, and older brother Paul Buckett, Herald writer and future president of the United States. The Herald recently got a chance to sit down and interview David. Considering he lives in the same household as Paul, it wasn’t very hard.


Herald: How has the transition from homeschooling to the rigorous curriculum at JPII been for you?

David: I have made a lot of new friends, but it is very hard to keep up with all the homework.


Herald: What is your favorite fruit?

David: Raspberries


Herald: Will you be participating in any extracurricular activities?

David: Basketball and soccer


Herald: What do you think of the house system?

David: I think it’s a waste of time, but it is nice to have a field day once in a while.


Herald: Would you rather have fingers as long as legs or legs as long as fingers?

David: Legs as long as fingers


Herald: Who is your favorite teacher?

David: Mr. Saboe


Herald: What is your hardest class so far?

David: Honors Algebra 1


Herald: What do you see yourself doing after high school?

David: Studying entrepreneurship and maybe starting my own small business


Herald: Who would win in a fight: a unicorn with the face of a clown, or a sumo wrestler with the face of a dolphin?

David: A sumo wrestler with the face of a dolphin


Herald: What’s something interesting that people should know about you?

David: I am a huge reseller on eBay.
