JPII Baseball Stars: Where Are They Now?

The JPII Knights have had great success in the baseball program in the past couple of years. We have sent many alumni to college for baseball, and they are performing well. Below is a summary on how they are doing this season.


Ben Brooks (2017) – Memphis University

Ben is a starter for the Tigers, and he is doing really well. He plays second base, and his batting average is .346 on 26 at bats. Ben has played 7 games so far this year. He has 9 hits and 1 extra base hit.  


Whitt Drennan (2015) – Rollins College

Whitt is a pitcher for Rollins College. Whitt has played in six games with a 3.00 ERA. He has 19 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched.


Benny Ennis (2018) – Sewanee University

Benny is a pitcher for Sewanee and has 1 APP this year. He has 1.2 innings pitched. He has given up 2 hits and 1 run.


Ryan Hatten (2016) – Virginia Military Institue

Ryan Hatten has started 5 games. He has hit a double and brought in 2 RBIs.


Dalton Heath (2016) – Volunteer State

Dalton is a pitcher for Vol state, and he has 3 APP with 5 strikeouts in 9.1 innings.


Mason Hickman (2017) – Vanderbilt University

Mason is a pitcher for the Vanderbilt Commodores. He started last year and has had a really good start to this season. In the future, he looks to take his talents to the MLB. Mason’s ERA this year is 5.63 on 8 innings pitched.


Nate Pianto (2017) – Southwest Community College

Nate is a pitcher for Southwest Community College.  


Jake Rucker (2018) – University of Tennessee

Jake is a freshman at UT, and he is starting for the Volunteers. Jake has a batting average of .269 on 26 at bats. He has played 9 games this year and has 4 RBIs.


Jack Shuttleworth (2016) – Maryville College

Jack has played 6 games at Maryville with 2 RBIs.


Matt Steidl (2018) – Southern Illinois

Matt is a pitcher for Southern Illinois with 1 APP and a 2.25 ERA. He has 7 strikeouts in 4 innings pitched.
