Many of you know the highly decorated artist from his fantastic work in Rebecca Black’s “Friday.” If for some reason you are unaware who we are talking about, we are referring to the lyrical genius Patrice Wilson; however, many of his other works go underrated in comparison to “Friday.” This is why we are breaking down the top five Patrice Wilson music videos.

  1.   “It’s Thanksgiving” by Nicole Westbrook

At first we were hesitant to add this one to the list. Its overall plot line and lyrics aren’t as strong as his other works, but it does have redeeming factors, specifically the use of the turkey drum stick microphone and Patrice making an appearance in a turkey suit. These aspects really capture the essence of Thanksgiving, which is what he was going for, so it makes the list.

  1. “Beautiful” by Patrice Wilson

This is the only video that made the list in which Patrice is the solo artist, and that speaks a lot to his character. It is a beautiful comeback story for Patrice, as he attempts to revitalize his career (and body), and the use of baby imagery and color really add to that. Solid overall video.

  1. “Shush Up” by Alison Gold

This is by far the edgiest video done by Patrice, and because of that courage to explore new areas of music, it makes it to the number three spot. Patrice explores the controversy of the problem with the death penalty, and his response is “crank it or shush up,” so we are led to believe he is taking a very divided stance on the penalty: Either go all out, or not at all. Because this video takes a strong political stance, as well as containing a great story and artistic vision, it comes in at number three.

  1. “Chinese Food” by Alison Gold

This video has a fantastic story laid out by amazing lyrics. The way that Patrice uses different types of Chinese food in the lyrics really captures the theme he is attempting to promote. Also, Patrice makes the second greatest appearance in a video ever: wearing a panda suit. Once revealed, he also has an incredible rap about friendship and Chinese food. Overall extremely well done video.

  1. “ABCDEFG” by Alison Gold

This one is incredible. There are so many pop culture references, including Mr. Rogers, as well as references to his other videos through the use of potions. The uses of doll houses with Patrice as the overseer makes a strong point to show Patrice controls these videos, and we really love that. Patrice makes another great rap here, and the greatest appearance ever: as a puppet. This, along with the great use of the Wilson Wagon really brings the video full circle to show how much of a creative genius Patrice is. This video is even slightly edgy, when Alison eats the other kid, who turns into Chinese food, yet another reference to Patrice’s classic hit “Chinese Food.” All these elements add up to equal a work of art. Great work, Patrice. Keep it up!

There you have it: the five best Patrice videos ever. Recently Patrice has gone silent, not producing many videos. As hardcore Patrice fans, we can only hope that he continues to make instant classics like he has done in the past.
