This year at Super Bowl LIII, Maroon 5 performed the halftime show at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. They were not the first choice to perform due to political conflict this year, but they did not disappoint. They had everyone in the stadium and on TV singing along with them.

Their stage was shaped as an M in the middle of the field with screens behind the stage. The entire crowd surrounded the stage with lights and lanterns. Since this was the biggest show he’d ever performed, Adam Levine was put under a lot of pressure. The lack of excitement leading up to the big game added even more stress to the band. He looked a bit nervous, but his vocals were still spot on. Although the stage was not as spectacular as Lady Gaga’s or Katy Perry’s, their iconic M represented them well.

During the show, Travis Scott came floating down to the tune of SpongeBob’s “Sweet Victory” to honor the passing of the show’s creator, Stephen Hillenburg. This made many fans happy when they saw it. The song then transferred into Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” with an inflamed stage. Big Boi drove out in a Cadillac to sing his song “The Way You Move.” Maroon 5 tried to get Cardi B to come out and sing “Girls Like You,” but she politely declined because of all the hate the band was receiving.

Maroon 5 came out with “Harder to Breath” accompanied by lots of fireworks and pyro. They then transferred into “This Love.” Throughout the performance, LED lights that were synced to the music peppered the stage. During “She Will Be Loved,” lanterns were sent out in the air, and Adam went out into the crowd to sing. As his backdrop, drones formed the word “one.” The last song they sang was “Moves Like Jagger,” which served as an amazing way to end the monumental show.

In conclusion, Maroon 5’s halftime show was well thought-out and well put-together. Even though the game itself was not one of the most exciting Super Bowls, Maroon 5 will be remembered for their performance.
